Haverhill Mayor given VIP tour of the EpiCentre, as part of the post-pandemic back to business drive

The new mayor of Haverhill, Liz Smith, has been given a VIP tour of the EpiCentre, innovation centre, as it drives forward its post-pandemic business drive

The mayor was accompanied by fellow councillors from Haverhill including Cllr Paula Fox, Cllr Margaret Marks and Cllr David Smith.

Plus Innovation and Enterprise are massive factors as the UK recovers and steps forward from the pandemic, how exciting that Haverhill can be at the forefront of this.

Mayor Smith said: “It is a massive boost for Haverhill that The EpiCentre is in the forefront of innovation and enterprise as the UK recovers and comes out of the pandemic. I look forward to its continuing success, providing space for local businesses and increased employment opportunities for the local and regional community. I believe it complements the Spirit of Enterprise sculpture on the roundabout in front of the building as you approach Haverhill.”

Centre Manager, Kelly Boosey, said: “We were honoured to have the VIP visit from Mayor Smith to show her both the office and laboratory facilities in our wonderful new centre as well as meeting some of our occupiers.

The centre recently announced that there is growing interest in The EpiCentre from potential occupiers and in recent weeks occupier numbers have grown by 30%. Over the coming months it will be holding a variety of events reaching out to potential occupiers to showcase its facilities and in September it will be opening a new café not only for those companies in the centre but for the wider community as a whole.

The EpiCentre’s appeal is that there are no huge financial commitments. Rolling monthly contracts means companies are not tied in for years and can adjust their space needs to immediate business needs. There are office rooms of all sizes, together with hot desks and co-working spaces that are all COVID-safe.

The centre has announced a hybrid and ‘in-person events programme, whilst still making content accessible online. Those wishing to attend can keep up to date with the events on its website: www.epicentrehaverhill.co.uk/events/

“We are so proud of the EpiCentre that is putting Haverhill and the surrounding area on the business map, with workspace and business support that is helping young and growing companies emerge out of the last year’s lockdown, and ready to move forward again”
