JAYNIC sells 125-home residential development site at Red Lodge in Suffolk

JAYNIC Properties Limited has sold a 125-unit residential site adjacent to the A11 at Red Lodge, Suffolk, to Barratt Homes Eastern Counties.

The development on 4.08 hectares (10.08 acres) comprises 87 private units and 38 affordable homes, with a broad range of dwellings from one to four bedrooms. The development also incorporates a children’s play area, with links to adjacent public open space and recreational facilities.

The land had been allocated for commercial uses for over 20 years without any developer take up, but JAYNIC was able to secure a residential planning permission therefore bringing the site into a use that will bring benefits to the community.

Andrew Anderson, Director at JAYNIC, said:

“We’re delighted to have sold this land to Barratt Homes and look forward to seeing the site developed to provide new private and affordable housing at Red Lodge.

Red Lodge village benefits from a range of community facilities and services including a church, village hall and sporting facilities. There is also a day nursery, a primary school a post office, convenience store, pharmacy, pub and several other food establishments, alongside plans for a new 420-entry school to be opened in 2018.

In addition to the road links, the village is situated close to the town of Kennett which benefits from a railway station offering a direct service to Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds in approximately 28 minutes and 11 minutes respectively. Cambridge airport lies approximately 24 km (15 miles) to the south.
